Halfway House

Halfway House Station marker at SilveyvilleHalfway House is another station marker west of Sacramento. It sits in the former town of Silveyville. As the inscription on the bench states, the residents of Silveyville packed up and moved a couple of miles south and formed the new community of Dixon alongside the new track of the California Pacific Railroad. The markers are located here.

Not much else to say about this station, except that it made for a nice destination on a late fall day. If you decide to visit, the roads out here, even though close to US 80, run through farmland and orchards. They are narrow, but pleasant, and drives are used to seeing bikes all through the area.
